About This Game

Overview


Spy_Bugs is a flying game in which the protagonists are cyborg insects upgraded with high tech weapons. They can fly, land, fire weapons and make special attacks, each insect is a different character with a specific weapon, special attack and specific role. The player fights other insects in closed battlefields, like a human's house.

Background story


The year: 2023
There is a major corporation aiming to become the most important player in information control in the world. With the latest technology they gather private and industrial data and then sell it to the highest bidder with absolutely no regards for privacy. They are known as Cyberius Corporation.
On the other hand, former Cyberius employees created a group of freedom fighters and began a conflict to expose Cyberius for what they truly are and protect people's privacy. These brave people are known as Hexotech.

The immediate response of Cyberius was to create micro drones. Using real insects, they started to genetically modify them and then add weapons in order to infiltrate any kind of building, eliminate threats, gather information and get out undetected.
When Hexotech learned of this technology they started to create their own micro drones in order to fight back, secure private data and sabotage Cyberius plans.

One of Hexotech's members managed to get the key to the insect modifications and they started to make their owns. However their goal is to secure all the data and sabotage Cyberius plans.

So the cold war for information began

  • DESTROY YOUR OPPONENT
    It is the goal of the game to destroy the Empire of your opponent.
    Look out for Attack-Cards to build up your dark army, but do not forget to protect & strengthen your own Empire of blood!
  • SELECT YOUR KING
    Decide the king & faction you want to battle with. Depending on this choice you get your start-deck and your private-deck in the Market-Place to acquire cards from.
  • COLLECT GROUPS
    You collect and play Groups, the most powerful entities in the game, which are designed after its historical examples (e.g. Pairs like ‘Sisi’ & ‘Franz Joseph’). They count twice if they are completed in your Empire!
  • HOLD CARDS
    Location-Cards not only provide you with permanent guldens every turn but also with 'hands', which means holding-ability, this gives you more strategic flexibility and control!
  • PLAY POWER-CARDS
    Play Power-Cards for fast and surprising play!
    Depending on your chosen king & faction there are different types of Power-Cards available for you at the Market-Place.
  • ACQUIRE OR ATTACK, ACQUIRE OR EMPIRE
    Attack-Cards can be played for acquiring new cards or they can… you guess right: ATTACK!
    Empire-Cards can be played for acquiring new cards or they can be played into your Empire to increase your empire-points.
  • PLAY SPELLS
    Use offensive or defensive Spell-Cards, depending on your strategy and all for one goal:
    knock down your opponent!

HOW TO WIN

In VEmpire it is the goal to destroy your opponent by pushing his Empire-Points to zero!

Buy Attack-Cards at the Market-Place to build up your army.
Buy Empire-Cards at the Market-Place to protect and strengthen your Empire.
But: Once played into your Empire, the cards stay there, they are lost for buying!

GAME START

The game starts with the flip of a dime.
The winner will choose its King of Darkness first and play first!
The opponent will therefore select his King from the remaining ones.
Each player starts with a start-deck of 10 cards: The chosen King and 9 Mercenaries!

THE MARKET-PLACE

You could buy new and better cards from the Market-Place with the gulden-values from your cards by playing them from your Hand for 'Spend'.




As the game starts, the Market-Place is built out of the cards from both selected factions.
The two leftmost cards are your private-deck and consists of attack- & empire-cards which are under the spell of your selected king, therefore only you can acquire those cards!
The two rightmost cards are the private-deck of your opponent. Only he can buy those cards.
However with spell-cards you can banish cards also from your opponent’s private cards.

The three cards in the middle of the Market-Place are available to both players, those are the location- & spell-cards from both factions.
This means that each king-duel combination provides a fresh and unique collection of cards, which offers different tactical and strategic challenges and possibilities in every game.


At the beginning of the game and at the end of every turn both players draw 5 cards from their Deck. In the very first round the player in second place draws 6 cards!

If your newly drawn Hand does not have enough guldens to buy a card, you can recruit additional Mercenaries in order to be able to buy the cheapest or even the most expensive card from the Market-Place.

Be aware of the Mercenary-Limit. At the beginning of the game you can only “Empire” one Mercenary per turn.
A completed group however increases this limit by one!

Before the cards for the next turn are being drawn from the player’s Deck, all played cards (except the “held” ones) go back into the players Discard-Pile.

This means that played cards will stay in the game and will appear again later because if the Deck is empty the Discard-Pile will be shuffled and becomes the new Deck.
This is not true for cards which were played into the Empire or cards which have gone into the Graveyard!

During your turn, you can:

  • Attack your opponent from your Hand with attack-cards
  • Play cards from your Hand for acquiring new cards from the Market-Place
  • Play cards from your Hand into your Empire to increase your power
  • Play location-cards from your Hand into your Empire for permanent guldens and holding-ability
  • Play spell-cards from your Hand for immediate effects
  • Play power-cards and surprise your opponent
  • Hold cards until the next turn

HISTORY & DARK TIME-TRAVELERS

All cards in the game belong to one of four specific factions.
This means that every card is under the powerful spell of one King of Darkness.
A King controls the affiliates of his specific time-period, meaning just he can acquire them!

But you guess very right, the mighty habsburg rulers are just bound to their king – by no means are they bound to a specific time – they could be seen as dark & ancient travelers of time, appearing all at the same time – again, but bloodier then ever…

At the beginning of the game the player can select his king resp. his faction!
Therefore, both players have their own private-deck available for acquiring at the Market-Place exclusively.
But you can use the spell-cards from both factions and this brings great freshness and new challenges into every game!




They have been known throughout the centuries as the lords and ladies of Habsburg. European high-born.
Influencers of men, manipulating the very fabric of human society across the four corners of the Earth.
Sometimes for the good, sometimes for the detriment… always to their own ends.
In time, as man and the world evolved, their dynasty, like all dynasties before it, dwindled as the last
vermillion rays of the setting sun.
But even as the lords of Habsburg seceded power in the early 20th century and slipped into a slumber far
removed from the public eye, their name and influence remained.

One that’s led me to my exhaustive studies for over twenty years academic pursuit which reveals a terrifying truth…

Nonhuman stewards of the secret of blood-the knowledge of its memory and power, and the dark magic to wield it.

I hope later on they ad more cards .. VEmpire-The Kings Of Darkness is an indie deckbuilder-card game. It was developed for almost 4 years before it was released on Steam as an Early Access title. It is based on historical events & one of the most influential families in European history with a vampiric fantasy twist that gives the game an engaging and unique atmosphere.

    PROS:
    -Early Access: How EA is supposed to be. Four years development before releasing provides a solid proof that the developer seriously cares about his project and desires to make the best out of it. The game is stable; PvP is ready with casual as well as ranked matches in play. The reason the game is on EA is for to implement a story mode(campaign) in single player as well as for fine tuning and adding content. Details can make the difference between a good and a great game!

    -No Free2Play, No Pay2Win. You pay once & get the whole thing making PvP an honest gaming experience.

    -Theme: Creativity upon the concept, historical accuracy, great atmosphere with strong attention on detail.

    -Artwork: Top notch card design from locations to spells and characters. Cards are so beautiful to look at that i caught myself altering my game plans and strategies just to have them in my Empire.

    -Music: Great music & sound design adding to the thematic atmosphere of the game. One can easily see after spending some hours in play that the aesthetics of the game reflects the dedication of the developer and adds to the gaming experience.

    -Gameplay: Where the game shines! Variety of cards (Locations, Attack cards, Power cards, Offensive and Defensive Spells) different for each of the four factions making each gameplay a different and unique experience. One of the things that i really enjoy is that the AI is not just cosmetic: With three levels of difficulty it gives the player a good challenge adding to the replayability of the single player mode. One needs to play so to understand many strategic layers of the game and to feel the joy of making the right decision at the right time turning the tide when all seem lost.

    CONS:
    -No playthrough videos on Youtube.

    -Tutorial: Though it provides all details on how to play it is a little static and not so enganging at the moment.

    All and all i highly recommend this game. Dedication and love from the developer ensures that this title is only going forward!. Great idea needs more work. and a story. This is a great game. I was looking for an alternative to Star Realms, which I also really liked. But I was looking for something with more of a horror theme than a sci fi theme & I stumbled across this game. At first, I thought it was a bit complicated, but the tutorial is good and it didn't take long to get the hang of...lots in common with Star Realms. Love the music which hasa rock theme and I also like the thunder and lightning effects. The artwork is awsome as well. I mostly play solo games and I find this one is great to pla solo. I may jump online one of these days. So far, enjoying this game very much and highly recommend it.. Oh how I dislike to review EA titles, but alas, those little kids who love to play critic, while not even having spent an hour to play this game, kinda force me to.
    I\u00b4ve played tons of different TCG\u00b4s and CCG\u00b4s over the last 25 years (Dune, MTG, Star Wars, Battletech, Shadowrun, Illuminati, Jyhad, Mythos, Aliens\/Predator, Kult and maybe 1-2 I\u00b4ve forgotten).
    VEmpire doesn\u00b4t fall short of those at all. It\u00b4s a solid game, although still in EA, that will receive some further polishing and improvements, but is absolutely enjoyable and fun as it is now.
    The tutorial doesn\u00b4t give you the whole picture, unfortunately, that\u00b4s the only thing I could critizise. But after the 3rd or 4th match against the surprisingly good AI, you get the idea. That\u00b4s when the fun really begins.
    There are 4 different epochs\/leaders and they distinguish themselves by pace and focus. Besides that diversity, games never get boring in terms of "sure bets", almost every match is quite tense and challenging.. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys card games. Both the art and music are beautiful, and the basis of the game is very unique. The developer is very open, honest, and passionate about making the game all it can be. To him, it isn't just about creating a game, it is about a creating a friendly, helpful community around the game.

    A HUGE plus is once purchased, you own everything, there are no in-game microtransactions. Though some may not mind them, paying real money for virtual items just seems foolish to me, especially as they can add up fast. That is simply my own opinion, but I'm a casual gamer to begin with. When I see microtransactions, I think "another way to milk money out of customers". Wolfgang is VERY animate that such a model will never be a part of this game, and given his straightforward nature, I have no doubt that is the truth.

    Having purchased many Early Access games, I know what a gamble they can be. However, in this particular situation, I believe the odds are very much in favor of success. Even in its current state, the game feels well designed and stable. This game is a far cry from some very pre-alpha games on Steam that I can safely say, will almost certainly end up abandoned. Development is very active and I am very eager to see this game evolve into something the just blows me away even more!

    In addition to all the above, the price is extremely reasonable for what one is receiving. Though I am not even close to mastering the game mechanics yet, I'm very excited about this game, the developer's mindset, and the final product! Once again, I highly recommend purchasing this game in its current state, and being a part of helping Wolfgang reach his goal of creating something truly unique and enjoyable!. This is a great deckbuilder with a lot of nice strategies and tactics. The theme is great and original, the graphics are excellent without breaking your processor (runs on my crappy lappy beautifully), and I've never seen a dev so excited about his game. If you like Ascension, Star Realms, or other deckbuilders, give this one a shot. It's worth the money and your time.. Card game? Check.

    Monarchy? Check.

    Sisi?! Check.

    Local "german" developers? Check.

    Recommendation? Check!


    I like it, its great for small sessions and provides a lot of tactical depth. At first i thought this was a CCG (like Hearthstone and Faeria), but its not, from what i see. You have all the cards available, but you start your game with only some of them which you then use to "buy" more. The bought cards get added to your deck and can be used to buy even more cards. If youve played War of Omens you know how this works.


    Things that were not perfect:

    The tutorial is really confusing, but after 1 game vs AI everything became clear.

    There is no story-mode (yet), but its EA and the devs are active.

    The game lacks a bit diversity, especially in the last turns where all cards are bought. Maybe force the game to end in the next few turns after all cards are bought? Or let the player reuse all discarded cards for infinite combos?

    Anyways, i think its worth 15\u20ac and i recommend it.

About This Game

Square Route


Square Route is a puzzle game in which you must take control of the terrain by adding and removing platforms and placing tools to create a safe route for the Squares to get to their targets. There are between one and four Squares on each level, and left to their own devices they will happily bounce around on their own and turn around if they hit a wall. But not being the most intelligent or safety-conscious of creatures, they will not think twice (or not think at all) before falling off the edge of the level or getting themselves trapped. So, they're going to need all the help they can get...



That means it's your job to keep them out of trouble. You can do this by helping them turn around, jump across gaps, climb ladders and reverse their gravity, or by altering their surroundings by removing existing platforms and building others. Combinations of such objects are often required, and the building of elaborate structures is frequently a necessity. They're gonna need all the help they can get!

However, the catch (there's always a catch) is: you only get a certain amount of actions to perform on each level, so you'll have to work out how to hit all the targets efficiently with the tools you have available. On some levels it's possible to pick up more actions along the way, but you'll have to work out which ones you need, and whether it's worth getting them or trying to complete the level without them.



With 120 levels, including a full 20-level tutorial, Square Route is a classic puzzler that is both addictive and frustrating in equal measures. a09c17d780

Ugh, so this game.

I was so excited for it. A whole summer as a witch at a camp making friends and uncovering secrets? Yes please, said I.
What I actually got is a short linear game with dozens of typos, no alternate routes and an extremely clumsy plot.

First off, the good.
The art is fantastically distinct and expressive and there's loads of it. However, I found there were very few different expressions for characters. Most of them have only around three, then the same amount of different poses, so the characters move around enough to be dancing during any conversation. Not a big thing, but there.

What is a big thing is the writing, or lack there of. Oh boy is this game short. It took me under 3 hours to complete the whole plot, other than some self-contained side friendships which have no impact on anything else. The choices you make do nothing but determine which side events you see and badges you get. No bearing on the main story whatsoever; that always stays the same and takes up about 3/4 of the play time. This might, just maybe, be okay if the plot was good and the game was around the $5 mark instead of triple that, but it is neither. I didn't realise I was at the climax until halfway through the scene and then I just went "What?" because there is zero build-up. I didn't think the plot had even left early rising action and then wham! Suddenly at the end.

Part of this is because I thought the game was going to last, you know, the whole summer. Since it is about a summer-long summer camp. In reality, it lasts less than a week in game. I think 6 days? You meet the bad guy once before you're at the final showdown with him, and it's glaringly obvious who it is and glaringly not-at-all obvious why he is doing anything he does. It just comes out of nowhere and it's totally extreme. Then you don't even get to see all the ends tied up--it just goes straight to credits right after the climax. No explanations for anything at all, nope.

A character gets injured severely, and you don't even get to see them alive and well before the end. One other character just gives you a thumbs up about their condition and that's all the closure we get. This injured character is your best friend, by the way. There's just one variable at the end for who you became friends with and the text is completely stock for this--it could apply to any of the characters.

So the game's script is short, plot poorly handled, and to top it all off there's like 20 typos I caught just from a casual reading. I lost track after a while though, so don't quote me.

This just promises to be so much and it ends up being...so little. It's a story-based game with a very bad story. That's really all it comes down to. A bad, short, linear story. Not what I look for in a visual novel.

What you can quote me on? I requested a refund out of disappointed disgust when I reached the end (calling it that might be a compliment). This game disppointed me in basically every way possible. I went in thrilled and came out sorely disappointed in under three hours. This game is not what it promises to be, at all. So disgusted still.. This is such a quaint little visual novel.

The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, and all the characters are colourful and expressive. The game has such a comforting tone that it actually makes you feel like you're at summer camp and having a fun time. The charming music and artwork lend to these feelings greatly.

There's also multiple paths to take throughout so there's many ways to beat the game. You can make best friends with certain people, or try to fill out a page book of merit badges and memorabilia.

Speaking of the book, the game has excellent presentation as well. The use of 3D for the book menu was very nice and the sound design really lends to the atmosphere. It's easy to let your imagination get absorbed into the story with how well this game is laid out and constructed.

The only gripe I have with the game is that the dialogue can get a little too twee sometimes. You'll have to play the game to see what I mean. Also admittedly the final "battle" of the game shall we say is a bit... ehhh. But I don't expect exciting battles in a visual novel game like this.

It's cute, it's absorbing and if you feel like you want to go to camp, but never got the chance to, here's a great substitute.. Loved the writing and all the lovely illustrations. Terrific, fun story. Some might believe this is for just younger folks/kids but as an adult, I think its a good time to be had by all.. Ugh, so this game.

TL:DR:
Feels like a mix of the original Prey, Portal, and oddly enough, space engineers (aesthetics only). Voice acting is good and the guy sounds like Tommy Wiseau from the room. Cracked me up. Puzzles are pretty good and range from simple to slightly challenging. Love the manipulation of gravity to solve the puzzles. Graphics are grey, dingy and a bit boring. Good game for the price.

Ever play the 2006 Prey? I always loved how that game manipulated gravity. I'm glad to see another game take that concept and make a puzzle game, as it makes quite a fun experience. Right off the bad, the game treats you to a narrirator who sounds a bit like Tommy Wiseau. Found that quite amusing.

Anyways, the the meat of the game involves relocating cubes. You take a cube from one spot, and find a way to get it to another. Its the in-between bits where the puzzling takes place. I quite enjoyed the experience, as it seems to have a well thought out difficulty curve.

Worst part about the game really is the dully scenery. It looks an awful lot like the inside of a ship from Space Engineers. Just the same grey walls with lines running through them. I know portal was simplistic with it's scenery as well, but it still managed to pull off looking interesting.

Nothing really of note in the controls department. If you've played any other first person game on PC, it will be familiar. The game lacks run and crouch, but I can't think of a good reason why they would be needed here.

Audio is pretty good as well. Like I mentioned before, I really enjoy the voice acting. Other ambient sounds are good too, but nothing to be overly impressed with.

I found gameplay quite fun. The puzzles were good and creative, and the cube and gravity mechanics work very well together. The steam store says there are 30 levels. I believe I finished around 10 or so within 45 minutes. Each level gets more complicated than the last, so maybe around 3-4 hours of gameplay here for quick problem solvers.

Overall, the game feels polished and I did not encounter any bugs, issues, or negative experiences in the technical department. For $6, I'd say pick it up. If your a fan of Portal, The Talos Principle, or other puzzles games, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.. If you liked portal, antichamber or polarity, I can guarantee that this game will not dissapoint you.
Gimbal Gravity is a cool puzzle solving game which challenges your wit and wisdom at every stage of the game.
It jumps straight to the point of puzzle solving while also introducing a story which really adds a lot to the atmosphere of the game.
The puzzles are diverse and increasingly challenging. You will find that some levels feel like pushovers while you have the potential of spending ages trying to solve a specific puzzle.
There will be times of frustration when you can't solve a puzzle.
And there will be times of joy when you finally complete the level, spiced with the frustration of your own stupidity.

You have to be flexible.
I once thought I had solved a level and tried for 20 minutes to make the solution work through acrobatic prowess, only to discover that I could just walk to my destination. :D

And once I had solved a level only to fall of my platform in front of the exit, because of my own incapability to walk in a straight line. I did this trice!

11\/10 - would fail for no reason whatsoever again.. I played the all game, and to me it feels like it starts so slow. The start is too slow and annoying but the end is nice and fun. I think that untill the third gimbal there are not a lot of puzzles and most of them require more platforming skills than puzzle solving. The platforming was not fun enough, because it didnt feel smooth enough. The puzzles in the third gimbal though were fun and entartaining and i was fine with buckle through the annoying platforming at part for it.

Summary:
its more of a technical demo and the price is fine for that.
The last 7 puzzles are fine but before that the tutorials are hard on platforming and easy puzzles which is not fun at all (the first and second gimbal were an annoyance)
You tried to copy a bit too much from portal and its a bit too bad... because there are a lot you can do differently.
it has potential but at the current status overall it is not a good expirience, but maybe for someone new for the concept it will be more fun.
I recommend to drop many of the platforming stuff and remove many of the levels in the second gimbal,
I cannot recommand this game, but i do recommand the end of it.. Great puzzle platformer with mostly light puzzles, with some medium to hard puzzles at the end. Play time for me was 4 hours, and that included getting stuck on a few levels by overthinking the solution. The puzzle aspect is figuring out how to connect the givers and receivers and how to reach the exit. Most of the time, you can figure it out relatively quickly, but some levels definitely make you think about it, especially when you reach the gravity resetter pads. The last level was particularly sneaky.

I don't know why some people compare this to Portal or say it tries to copy Portal. Other than both games being first-person puzzle-platformers which contain cubes, I see no similarities (other than both games being great fun).

The only change I would like to see is the ability to run. Some levels (especially the last level) can include a lot of walking, especially if you're unsure of the solution, and that can be frustrating.

All-in-all, I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys puzzle-platformers. At 3-4 hours play time, I think it's worth it, even at full price.
